In addition to our large base rooms we also have a “Sensory Room”. The main objectives of this room are to:
- Provide an environment that increases sensory stimulation
- Provide an interesting atmosphere that allows children the opportunity to explore their environment and encourage activity
- Provide nondirective activities that help communication
- Provide a safe and secure environment that allows children to relax physically and mentally
- Provide an environment where children feel free to enjoy themselves
- Encourage social skills
- Promote the learning and acquisition of new skills
- Encourage social interaction and awareness of others
- Encourage staff to link planned activities within the six areas of the EYFS
